You Can Cut Out These 3 Foods from Your Diet Because They’re Not Important


Anyone who needs to be careful with their daily diet for health or weight reason knows that sometimes we need to purge the kitchen and pantry of artificial sugars or refined carbohydrates. However, believe it or not, there are still certain foods we partake of day in and day out thinking that they’re just as healthy and contain less calories. Here are 3 foods in this category that you can cut out simply because they do nothing to your health, let alone do anything to make you lose weight.

Iced Tea

If you think this sugar laden drink containing more sugar than an average glass of juice is a much better replacement than soda drinks, you’re better off replacing it with green tea or making your own fresh fruit smoothie, but nix the sugar. And while you’re at it, you get more fiber from fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains than drinking a whole sack of iced tea. One small glass of iced tea already contains 59 grams of sugar.

Low fat or non-fat fruity yogurts

Plain Greek yogurt is well known to be a healthy addition to any diet and is beneficial for its nutrient and fiber content as well antioxidants. But things are going overboard with Greek yogurt being pre-blended with granola, chocolate, and other fruity flavors and still masquerading as low fat or non-fat in spite of the saturated fat and sugar content going up on any scale. That’s 120 calories more and 15 grams more sugar than your average plain Greek yogurt. Stick to plain instead.

Flavored coffee creamers

Coffee creamers seem so innocent as an addition to our daily diet because only small amounts are put into our coffee. But if you’re the type to go for flavored coffee creamers, these little creamy devils contain hydrogenated oils, or trans fats, that are harmful to our heart’s health because it lowers the amount of good cholesterol. And that small amount every day amounts to a big health risk as time goes by. Just go black coffee instead or buy plain creamers. You’ll do away with the additional 40 calories, 9 percent saturated fat, and 6 grams of sugar.
