There are many reasons why a person is gaining belly fat. Some few contributors are lack of exercise, poor diet, and stress. Although this fat may be hard to get rid of, you can still have the flat good-looking stomach you’ve always wanted. With a balanced combination of weight training, cardiovascular training, muscle building, and discipline, you can still get that stomach.

So, let’s start off with your food intake. Avoid bad carbohydrates from foods like white bread, pasta, bagel, and biscuits. These foods will affect your digestion and in result, will make you fat. Bad carbohydrates are also known to be the source of diabetes, and heart disease. Try to eat good carbohydrates as much as possible like from those of fruits and vegetables, oat meals, brown rice, beans and sweet potatoes. A person has to eat a balanced combination of protein, and carbohydrates for a good diet but all in all, try basing your diet from the food pyramid. You should be able to consume all of the food from each category from that pyramid.

If you want to build up muscles, it is best to intake more protein. Protein foods include, milk, soy milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, peanut butter, lean meat, fish, beans, tofu, lentils, legumes, grains, nuts and seeds. Protein is known to improve our muscles. Protein is the reason why we have firm muscles. Protein also repairs our muscles while we rest. Protein also makes us stronger.
