Did you know that diabetic men can achieve an improvement in their sex lives just by shedding some extra pounds? This sounds like great news, doesn’t it? If you are a male and if you have diabetes, now is the time to clean up your act and strive to lose some weight if you do not want to have an inactive sex life. Diabetic men are usually suffering from erectile dysfunction and have bladder problems. The disease is what damages their nerves and also reduces their blood flow. Although this might be the case, recent research reveals that erectile function and desire improvement can still be achieved by diabetic men even just by losing at least five percent of their body weight.

Bladder problems can also be reduced with weight loss. How did the researchers come up with this conclusion? At first, they gathered 31 obese participants that have Type 2 diabetes and studied them for a period of 8 weeks. 19 participants were made to engage in a diet that consisted of 900 calories daily. The 12 others were given a diet that had reduced carbohydrates, plenty of protein and less fat and gave them at least 600 calories to consume each day. Once the two-month period has passed, the researchers found out that those who ate a low-calorie diet are the ones who lose more weight than those who ate more calories daily. However, with regards to sexual function it has been discovered that both groups improved in their erectile function and in desire. Aside from that, both groups also experienced lesser urinary problems.

The study continued for at least 12 months and the participants were monitored by the researchers. During that period of time, the results maintained! This only goes to show that even just a small amount of weight loss can really bring about great health benefits to diabetic men.  There were even more health benefits that arose as time went by and these are; blood flow increase, decreased inflammation and increased testosterone levels. This means that these men are now able to experience an increase in desire, lesser problems with urination and better erections. Although this may be the result for men, this is not the same result that women would get. For this reason, this technique can only be applied to men. If you are overweight and diabetic, just aim to lose some weight and you will surely improve at sex in just a short period of time!
