Founded in 1926, the National Association for the Education of Young Children celebrated its 75th anniversary with more than 100,000 members and a national network of nearly 450 local, state, and regional affiliates. These affiliates aim to improve professional practice and working conditions in early childhood education and to build public support for high quality early childhood programs. Membership is open to all who share a desire to serve and act on behalf of the needs and rights of young children.
