Every woman knows that one day, she will be on her road to menopause. However, most women dread for that day. Why is this so? It’s because the symptoms of menopause are not very desirable. Luckily, there is still a way on how menopause symptoms can be prevented from becoming worse. How can this be done? It’s by following this healthy diet plan that I am about to discuss with you now. So what do you need to do in this type of diet? The first thing you need to do is to watch your fats. While it is true that fats are important in your body, you must still be careful of how much you consume.

It’s because having too much body fat can worsen menopause. There are also good fats which you can add to your diet. One good example is fish. Although oily fish is known to help in decreasing your risk of diabetes and improving heart health, eating too much of it is not good because of the saturated fats present in it. Too much of this kind of fat can lead to high estrogen levels which can then cause you to suffer from breast cancer. That is why you must avoid it including trans fats and dairy products. Another food group you need to be careful of is carbs.  You can have a little of them but too much is not good for menopause.

Some of the refined carbs like potatoes, rice, pasta and white bread tend to transport glucose directly to your bloodstream thus causing weight gain, exhaustion and mood swings. As much as possible, just go for GI carbs such as cereals and whole grains to give you your much needed energy without making you feel moody and stressed. You also need to be mindful about your drinks. Caffeinated beverages have the tendency to pressure your adrenal glands which is bad for menopause. In addition, too much alcohol can also be bad for your liver and your menopause. It’s because it makes your liver work harder and it can make you more emotional and become dehydrated. It is also advisable to add fresh foods to your diet and to reduce your sugar intake to make sure that you have an easy menopause and not a miserable one.
