Exercise Boosts Metabolism
While specific diets and foods do not boost metabolism, exercise does. Short term, there is increased energy burning during exercise. But the benefit extends beyond calorie burning. Regular exercise helps preserve lean body mass.

Lean body mass, also known as muscle, is the engine that drives the body’s metabolism. Muscles work for the body every minute of every day, burning calories whether the body is sitting still, moving, or even sleeping. So if you preserve your lean body mass through physical activity, you get a double benefit—extra calorie burning during exercise and steady calorie burning throughout the day and night. Resistance training such as weight training, working with weight machines or bands, and even using your body as in a pushup preserves and builds muscle, muscle strength, and power, helping make daily tasks easier. You can stay active because your muscles are more fit.
Weight gain as we get older is common, but it is by no means inevitable. Adult weight gain does not result predominantly from a preprogrammed slowdown in metabolism that occurs with age— the main reason behind lower metabolism is an inactive lifestyle that causes lean muscle tissue to decrease. Here is the good news: you can build muscle and boost your metabolism no matter how old you are. I passed by a projector lamp center while i was having my exercise and thought of buying one to introduce a new product for my audience.
