You should first consult your eye doctor before using a new contact lens. This is to make sure that your new disposable contact lens is compatible with your other products.

Things you should remember about contact lenses:

  • As much as possible, avoid getting tap water to your contact lenses because tap water can carry a microorganism that causes serious eye infection. This microorganism is called Acanthamoeba. Even though disinfection procedures of contact lenses kill Acanthamoeba but they won’t be able to kill its cysts.
  • Disposable lenses when not in use can be rinsed with hot tap water and dried.
  • To avoid risk of infection, always throw out your contact lens as directed.
  • Always clean your contact lens accessories like disinfecting/cleaning devices, lens case, enzymatic cleaner vials and so on) as directed.
  • To avoid contamination, avoid touching solution bottle tips to any surface even to your body.
  • You should disinfect and clean your disposable contact lenses everyday. Especially those used extensively, should be cleaned and disinfected after removing it from your eyes unless you will no longer be using it.

If you follow this tips when caring for your contact lens then your eyes will surely be healthier and safer. It will even make your contact lens more comfortable to wear.
