Unless you’ve been living on Mars for some time, you’re probably already aware that breast milk is by far the healthiest food for your baby. The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding exclusively for at least the first 6 months. But although breastfeeding is often hailed as the most natural thing in the world, it can be hard work. The decision whether to breastfeed isn’t simply a medical one: Issues of convenience, aesthetics, and body image all play a part. Deciding whether to breastfeed is personal, and you shouldn’t feel pressurised into doing so if your heart’s not in it. But without a doubt-, if you can breastfeed, it’s the best thing you can do for your baby.
